Health Dismissal Notice
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you of an important health and safety update regarding student attendance and school operations.
As part of our illness monitoring protocol, the school tracks sickness-related absences each day. When 30% or more of the student body is absent due to illness, this threshold serves as a trigger for a school dismissal or closure in order to help limit further spread of illness.
Today, this 30% illness threshold has been met. As a result, the school will be closed tomorrow – Thursday, January 22. This decision was made in the interest of protecting the health and well-being of our students, families, and staff.
Teachers have been notified to send work home with students, if necessary, but students that are dealing with sickness are free to make up the work at a later time.
We appreciate your continued cooperation in keeping students home when they are sick and for promptly reporting illness-related absences. Your partnership is essential in helping us make informed decisions for the safety of our school community.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school office.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Summit Christian Academy
